PURPOSE: A composition for gastric retention and controlling release of a therapeutic agent is provided to improve absorption rate of the agent and drug compliance. CONSTITUTION: A composition for gastric retention contains a therapeutic agent, swelling polymers, and a gas generation material. The composition comprises: a sustained release part containing the therapeutic agent, swelling polymers, and gas generation material and excipient, control membrane, or wetting agent; and an immediate release part containing the therapeutic agent, immediate release film coating substance, and pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. The composition is manufactured in the form of powder, granules, tablets, liquid, films, and rapid disintegrant. |
