PURPOSE: An electric brake device is provided to prevent the impossibilities of parking and parking release due to a malfunction of a parking brake device by independently controlling a plurality of locking units maintaining the braking power. CONSTITUTION: An electric brake device comprises a disc(10), a pair of pad plates(11,12), a carrier(30), a caliper housing(20), a pressurization device, a plurality of locking holes, and a plurality of locking units(80,90). The disc rotates with a wheel of a vehicle. The pad plates are individually arranged on both sides of the disc in order to perform a brake by pressurizing both sides of the disc and are attached to the friction pads(13,14). The carrier is installed in order to move the pad plates. The caliper housing is movably installed in the carrier in order to pressurize the pad plates. The pressurization device is installed in the caliper housing for braking and pressurizes or releases the pad plate. The locking holes are formed on one or more gears of a gear assembly. The locking unit is moved in one of the locking holes and controls the movement of the gear when the power is off.
