PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow custom fonts in a terminal device to be used on another terminal device while suppressing increase in communication traffic.

SOLUTION: A terminal device 100 includes: an input section 140 which allows handwritten characters to be input; a skew extraction section 112 for extracting a base character image, from a base font, corresponding to a handwritten character image produced from the handwritten character that has been input via the input section 140 in order to extract skew data on the basis of a comparison between the extracted base character image and the handwritten character image; a skew expansion section 114 for expanding the skew data to a plurality of characters of the base font and generating font data; an intermediary file generation section 116 for generating an intermediary file which contains the skew data and a base font identifier; a memory 130 for storing the intermediary file and the font data; and a wireless communication section 120 for transmitting the intermediary file stored in the memory.
