<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a program capable of detecting a block noise on the basis of an image signal to be processed. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: a divided region type sorting unit which sorts the type of each divided region that has been obtained by dividing an image indicated by an input image signal, on the basis of the features of pixels included in the divided region; a noise evaluating value calculation unit which calculates a noise evaluating value indicating discontinuity at the boundary of the divided regions on the basis of the sorted type, for each divided region; and a noise detection unit for detecting a block noise on the basis of the noise evaluating value calculated for each divided region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
