The method involves constructing a formal language (13) based on a formal model (12) describing individual parameters of hardware components of a hearing device. A program (14) is constructed using the formal language, and transformed into a machine-executable code. The code is transmitted to the hearing device, and executed to automatically adjust the hearing device according to the program, or a machine-executable code of a hearing device adaptation program is transmitted to the hearing device, where the execution of the adaptation program results into a parameter set.
