The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for producing an organic triol borate salt, the method being capable of producing an organic triol borate salt that contains functional groups such as a carbonyl oxy group, a carbonyl group, a hydroxyl group, and an amino group. The present invention relates to: (I) a method for producing an organic triol borate salt represented by general formula [3] [3] characterized by reacting a compound represented by general formula [1] [1] with a compound represented by general formula [2] [2] in an organic solvent under the presence of water and alkali metal hydroxide (MOH); and (II) an organic triol borate salt represented by general formula (3').
