<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light generation assembly capable of reducing light loss at forming of cutoff in use of a low-beam function. <P>SOLUTION: The device emits light beams, especially, those for a vehicle. An irradiation range of the beams is defined by a first cutoff in a first cutoff plane and a second cutoff in a second cutoff plane different from the first. The device is provided with the light generation assembly which includes a light source, a reflector composed to generate reflection light beams from light beams of the light source, and a shield wall with its edge placed at a position on a reflection light path and composed to form the first cutoff.
