<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water soluble yellow pigment (compound) having high solubility to water, excellent various fastness properties such as water resistance, moisture resistance, ozone gas resistance and abrasion resistance, particularly excellent ozone gas resistance and a yellow ink composition for various recording, particularly inkjet recording which contains the same. <P>SOLUTION: The water soluble compound expressed by formula (1) or the salt is provided and an ink composition containing the same is provided.
