PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image coding method capable of obtaining excellent coding efficiency.

SOLUTION: An image coding method for performing coding for each macroblock into which an image is divided has a generation step for generating a predicted image of a macroblock to be coded on the basis of a prediction mode when intra-prediction is performed on a macroblock adjacent to the macroblock to be coded and pixel values of the adjacent macroblock.
