<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which suppresses power consumption by avoiding starting of GPS for grasping the present position of the mobile terminal when CH setting of one-segment broadcasting is automatically adjusted. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal 10 comprises: a digital tuner 48 for receiving one-segment broadcasting; and a noncontact IC 50 for noncontact communication with a reader and writer provided at an automatic ticket gate 106 etc. A processor 30 of the portable terminal 10 identifies a current CH area using station name information, shop name information, etc. received when the noncontact IC 50 performs noncontact communication with the reader and writer.
