<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can reduce occurrence of shocking jitter when monochromatic image printing is carried out in a tandem type color image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In a tandem type image forming apparatus, when forming a monochromatic image, only a photoreceptor 1a for black is abutted on an intermediate transfer belt 3, and when forming a color image, all photoreceptors 1a-1d including the photoreceptor 1a for the black are abutted on the intermediate transfer belt 3. A contact member 15 for selectively applying load to the intermediate transfer belt 3 is provided on an upstream side in a rotating direction of the intermediate transfer belt 3 from a contact part between the photoreceptor 1a for the black and the intermediate transfer belt 3, and when forming the monochromatic image, the contact member 15 applies the load to the intermediate transfer belt 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
