<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of preventing a user from overlooking an abnormal state where an exhaust shutter 4 cannot be closed when a power source is turned off because of foreign substances. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes an exhaust shutter 4 capable of closing an exhaust port 3, and exhaust shutter control means 15 for controlling opening/closing of the exhaust shutter 4.
