<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase toner gloss on coated paper without causing image defects such as gloss unevenness on plain paper and coated paper in an image forming apparatus configured to prevent the occurrence of gloss streaks by rubbing a heating rotating body for heating a recording material carrying an image with a rubbing member. <P>SOLUTION: A surface of a heating rotating body 91 can be uniformly roughened by controlling a temperature difference in a longitudinal direction of the heating rotating body to be within a predetermined temperature range. Accordingly, image defects resulting from scratches on the surface of the heating rotating body or gloss unevenness resulting from roughening unevenness of the surface of the heating rotating body can be prevented, and thereby excellent fixed images can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
