The invention relates to a fluid heater (1) and to a method for heating a fluid by means of the fluid heater, in which carbon-based fuels are subjected to combustion. The invention relates, in particular, to the combustion of fossil and/or renewable raw materials, wherein biomass, coal, heating oil or similar carbon-based fuels can be subjected to combustion using a fluid heater (1) according to the invention and a method according to the invention. The combustion air fed to the combustion process is pre-heated in a four-stage method and, pre-heated in this way, is fed to the combustion chamber (2), and therefore the carbon-based fuels used are subjected there to high-temperature combustion distinguished by very low emissions. The ash produced during combustion is discharged in vitrified form from the fluid heater. |
