<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly reduce power consumption according to a state of an information processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A power control device is configured to: supply power to CPU 5 and DRAM 23 from a DC power supply, the power being converted into DC power from AC power, when an information processing apparatus is in a first power mode; and stop power to CPU and DRAM and supply power to the DRAM from a secondary power supply when the information processing apparatus is in a second power mode in which power is consumed less than in the first power mode. The secondary battery 1 is charged using constant current circuits 2 and 46.
