<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transmittance for light and to suppress generation of persistence in a liquid crystal display panel having a photo-alignment layer. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal panel in which pixels each having an active element, a pixel electrode, a common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer, are arranged in a dot matrix. The liquid crystal display panel comprises: a first substrate; a second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate comprises: the active element; the pixel electrode; the common electrode; and a first alignment layer. The second substrate comprises a second alignment layer. The first alignment layer and the second alignment layer are optical alignment layers respectively formed by irradiating photo-decomposition type insulating films with light. The second alignment layer is formed thinner than the first alignment layer, and has thickness of 10 nm or more and 50 nm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
