<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of reproducing the saturation, hue, and the like, on the surface of an inspected object more accurately while preventing degradation in the defect detection accuracy, and to provide an image processing method and a computer program. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises an image pick-up unit having image sensors for capturing the image of an inspected object, and an image processing unit performing image processing of the image data acquired in the image pick-up unit. The image pick-up unit outputs a color image captured by the image sensor while converting it into an HDR image on the basis of the conversion characteristics for widening the dynamic range. The image processing unit performs reverse conversion of the color component value for each pixel of the HDR image output from the image pick-up unit on the basis of the conversion characteristics, calculates the ratio of brightness and the color component value for each pixel from the color component value subjected to reverse conversion, converts the brightness thus calculated on the basis of the conversion characteristics, and creates an HDR image corrected based on the ratio of the brightness thus converted and the color component value thus calculated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
