<p>Provided are a device and method capable of outputting a 3D viewable stereoscopic image for either landscape photography or portrait photography by a twin-lens reflex camera. There are an image input unit that inputs a left-eye image and a right-eye image photographed from different viewpoints as the input images, and an imaging angle decision unit that outputs a control signal corresponding to the angle of the camera when photographing the input images. When the control signal indicates an image photographed in the landscape mode by a twin-lens reflex camera, the left-eye image and the right-eye image, which are the input images, are output. When the control signal indicates an image photographed in the portrait mode by the twin-lens reflex camera, the image of either the left-eye image or the right-eye image is input to a stereoscopic image generation processor. In a stereoscopic image generation processor, the left-eye image and the right-eye image generated by a 2D-3D conversion process based on one image are output.</p> |
