This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for a display device (600) having a front light to provide front illumination to the display element (601) included in the display device (600) and an optical touch screen (608) to provide a touch input to the display device (600). In one aspect, the display device (600) includes a first light redirector portion (612a) disposed to receive light from a light source (607) and direct a portion of the received light forward of a light guide (603) that is disposed forward of the display element (601) and a second light redirector portion (612) disposed to receive and direct light propagating forward of the light guide (603) towards one or more sensors (615).
