Disclosed are a conjugate of polyethylene glycol-tamsulosin as shown in general formula (II) and a pharmaceutical composition containing the conjugate. In the conjugate, P and P' are H or polyethylene glycol but P and P' are not both H simultaneously. Sulfonylamino is contained in the structure of tamsulosin and through an alkylation reaction, low molecular weight polyethylene glycol is introduced into the structure of tamsulosin, reducing the hydrophobicity of tamsulosin, increasing the hydrophilicity thereof, and reducing the blood-brain barrier transmittance thereof, thereby reducing the toxicity thereof.
