<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of reducing power consumption by adjusting brightness of a back light, improving color contrast and improving black tightness. <P>SOLUTION: LED elements 52 composing a light source of a back light 41 are arranged so as to correspond to a plurality of pixels of a liquid crystal display panel 35. A brightness signal in video signals suppresses emission amounts of the LED elements 52 especially in a dark part of a video so that the light sources of the LED elements 52 of the back light 41 emit light at brightness corresponding to brightness levels related to some or all of the plurality of pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
