<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that allows even a characterizing portion of an inspection object to be visibly recognized even when partial image data of the inspection object are used for inspection, and further to provide an image processing method and a computer program both of which are executed in the image processor. <P>SOLUTION: An image processor comprises: an imaging section for imaging an inspection object; a compression processing section that executes compression processing with respect to image data imaged and obtained by the imaging section and generates compressed image data; and an image processing section for executing image processing for inspection. The image processing section generates partial image data that are parts of the obtained image data and accepts selection of either the compressed image data or the partial image data as image data used for the image processing.
