<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting control device of an internal combustion engine that can raise accuracy (failure diagnosis accuracy) of diagnostic code memory processing on the basis of a received state of an event frame transmitted with CAN communication during cranking only. <P>SOLUTION: The starting control device for an internal combustion engine calculates an accumulated interruption time of the event frame when receiving of the event frame is interrupted during cranking, and performs failure diagnosis for memorizing a diagnostic code when a calculated value exceeds a designated determination threshold. Thus, when the calculated value of the accumulated interruption time of the event frame exceeds the determination threshold by frequently generating interruption of the event frame and by lasting long interruption of the event frame, the diagnostic code can be memorized by determining that there occurs any failure. Therefore, the starting control device can prevent needless memorizing of the diagnostic code when determining one time that receiving of the event frame is interrupted only a little time period immediately before the end of cranking in spite of practically no generation of failure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
