METHOD FOR OXIDIZING IRON AND APPARATUS FOR OXIDIZING IRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for oxidizing iron and an apparatus for oxidizing iron by which bivalent iron in bivalent iron-containing water can be efficiently oxidized to trivalent iron.

SOLUTION: According to the method for oxidizing iron, iron oxidizing bacteria are added to bivalent iron-containing water and the water is aerated and stirred while aerating to oxidize the bivalent iron to the trivalent iron. The apparatus for oxidizing iron has an iron oxidizing tank for oxidizing the bivalent iron in the bivalent iron-containing water to the trivalent iron by the iron oxidizing bacteria and has two or more iron oxidizing tanks for carrying out aeration by a blower and for stirring by a stirrer.
