Provided is a method for positioning a user equipment (UE). In the method, a positioning server determines that a UE is in a coordinated multi-point transmission (CoMP) state; requests a plurality of serving base stations in a CoMP set of the UE and the UE to measure a parameter related to positioning of the UE; receives the parameter related to positioning of the UE from the plurality of serving base stations and the UE; and determines a location of the UE according to the received parameter.
