<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use image data. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging system includes a processing system and a display generating device. The processing system operates so as to generate central fovea data for a central fovea display area and peripheral data for a peripheral display area by processing a signal received from a camera. The peripheral data has a low pixel density in comparison with the pixel density of the central fovea data. The display generating device operates so as to generate the central fovea display area from the central fovea data by a mapping ratio of 1:n and generate the peripheral display area from the peripheral data by a mapping ratio of 1:m.
