<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical reaction device capable of grasping the internal state of a reactor. <P>SOLUTION: The chemical reaction device includes: a horizontal flow type reactor 13 that allows a liquid content to flow in a horizontal direction with an unfilled space present upward; a microwave generator 14 that generates microwaves; at least one waveguide 15 that transmits microwaves generated by the microwave generator 14 to the unfilled space of the reactor 13; a microwave invasion blocking tube 51 that is connected with the reactor 13, allows a content to circulate and has such an attribute as to inhibit invasion of microwaves generated by the microwave generator 14; and a detection section 52 that can detect the liquid level position of the content in the reactor through the content in the microwave invasion blocking tube.
