Disclosed is a method for preparing a casein-base nanometer silicon dioxide composite leather coating agent by using a bi-in situ method, comprising the following steps: preparing a casein solution and a caprolactam aqueous solution to obtain caprolactam modified casein solution; adding 0.4 to 1.6 parts of tetraethyl orthosilicate and 0.6 to 1.8 parts of silane coupler into the caprolactam modified casein solution; weighing 6.6 to 9.9 parts of mixed acrylic monomers and pouring same into the caprolactam modified casein fluid, stirring it for emulsification; dripping the initiator aqueous solution into the caprolactam modified casein fluid, and adjusting the pH to 7.5 with ammonia to obtain the final product. The product has the advantages such as high adhesion, resistance to high temperature, good permeability, high water resistance and desirable mechanical properties, which is an environmentally friendly material with great properties.
