The assembly (10) has a metal plate (26) arranged between two contact surfaces of two line elements i.e. bus bar (12) and contact tongue (18), and pressurized. The plate comprises nubs (22, 24) plastically deformed for producing contact between the two line elements, where an end region (14) of one of the line elements forms a receiving space to which an end region of the other line element is introduced. The plate is formed in U-shape in cross-section so that the end region of the latter line element is accommodated between two legs of the plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for connecting two electrically conductive line elements.
