The method involves applying a reinforcement element (11a) on a base element (12a) in an automated manner during transformation of the base element, where the reinforcement element is transformed by transformation of the base element. The reinforcement element and the base element are profiled together by transformation of the base element and the reinforcement element, where a roll forming process is utilized for common transformation of the base element and the reinforcement element. The base element and the reinforcement element are locally heated for fixation of the reinforcement element. The base element is designed as a metal sheet, and the reinforcement element is designed as a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic semi-finished product.
