<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid image pickup device which, in one embodiment, can reduce a ratio of thermal noise included, for example, in a signal read out from pixels. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, a solid image pickup device is provided which includes a pixel and a load current source. The load current source is connected to the pixel via a signal line. The load current source supplies current to the signal line. The pixel includes a photoelectric conversion part, a charge voltage conversion part, and an output part. The charge voltage conversion part converts the charge of the photoelectric conversion part into a voltage. The output part outputs to the signal line a signal corresponding to the voltage of the charge voltage conversion part. The load current source includes a current generation part and a change part.
