<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetostatic wave element and a magnetostatic wave device which are excellent in resonance characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetostatic wave element 1 includes: an element substrate 3; a magnetic film 2 positioned on a main surface of the element substrate 3; and an excitation electrode 5 partially positioned on the magnetic film 2. The excitation electrode 5 includes: a first bus bar 6 positioned on the main surface of the element substrate 3; a second bus bar 7 positioned on the main surface of the element substrate 3 so as to face the first bus bar 6; at least one first electrode finger 8 which is connected with the first bus bar 6 at one end and extends in a first direction that heads from the first bus bar 6 to the second bus bar 7; and at least one second electrode finger 9 which is connected with the second bus bar 7 at one end and extends in a direction opposite to the first direction.
