This direct oxidation-type fuel cell system is provided with: a fuel cell; a fuel supply device for supplying fuel to the fuel cell; an oxidizing agent gas supply device including a non-positive-displacement pump and that supplies oxidizing agent gas to the fuel cell; a pressure sensor that detects the discharge pressure of the pump; a pump speed sensor that detects the engine speed of the pump; a first memory that stores first information pertaining to the power generated by the fuel cell; a second memory that stores second information pertaining to the target supply flowrate of oxidizing agent gas to the fuel cell which is preset to correspond to the power generation setting; a third memory that stores third information pertaining to the relationship between the rotational speed of the pump, the discharge output of the pump, and the target supply flowrate; and a gas flowrate controller that controls the rotational speed of the pump in such a manner that the flowrate of oxidizing agent gas supplied to the fuel approaches or matches a target supply flowrate, on the basis of the first information, second information, third information, values detected by the pressure sensor, and values detected by the rotational speed sensor. |
