Methods and apparatus may provide for vertically loaded thrust bearings used in roller circles (1) in draglines. A carrier ring (2) in a roller circle (1) for a dragline may be provided with one or more flex points (19). Flex points (19) may impart a degree of flex to the carrier ring (2), perhaps to compensate for dragline motions and abate dragline stresses that otherwise may adversely affect various dragline roller circle (1) parts. The carrier ring (2) may be provided with a plurality of cantilevered spindles (5) having disarticulated outside ends (7). The disarticulated outside ends (7) of the cantilevered spindles (5) may have a degree of freedom of motion (29), and rollers (9) may be radially translatable along shafts (10) of the cantilevered spindles (5).
