An optical member manufacturing device comprises: an unwinding unit for unwinding a strip-form optical member sheet along with a separator sheet from a jumbo roll onto a plurality of optical display components conveyed on a line, the width of the optical member sheet corresponding to a display region of the optical display components in the component width direction, which is orthogonal to the direction in which the optical display components are conveyed; a cutting unit for cutting the optical member sheet along the width direction each time the optical member sheet is unwound in a length corresponding to the display region, and forming an optical member of a size corresponding to the display region; a detector for detecting a cut line formed by the cutting of the optical member sheet at a position located downstream from the cutting position where the cutting is performed on the optical member sheet by a distance corresponding to one optical member in the direction the optical member sheet is unwound; and a controller that, when the cut line is detected at a detecting position set apart by the distance of one optical member downstream of the cutting position, adjusts the distance between the detecting position and the cutting position in accordance with the position of the cut line.
