Class 52(1) [Also in Group XVII] A bag in which clothes may be carried, and which may subsequently be used as a dust cover, comprises a tubular portion having front and back panels 2, 7, aligned hand holes 14 extending through said panels, a closure flap at the top and bottom of each panel, hand holes 14 in the top flaps 3 and 8, and a closure panel 12 secured to the lower end of the back panel 7 such that this closure panel can be folded round the bottom of the bag and up over the front panel 2. The closure panel 12 and an end flap 13 thereon are also formed with hand holes 14. In use a garment or like article is placed on a hanger 16, formed with a hand hole and a straight upper edge 21, and it is then arranged in the bag such that the edge 21 is in line with the fold lines formed by the upper flaps 3 and 8. The protruding portion of the garment is then folded into the bag and the bottom closure flap 4 on the front panel 2 is tucked into the bag bottom. The bottom closure flap 9 on the back panel 7 is folded up on to the front panel 2 as is the closure panel 12. The flaps 3, 8, 13 are then folded over on to the back panel 7 such that all the hand holes 14 are in alignment. Each hand hold 14 is formed partially severing the material of the bag, the resulting tabs 15 in the hand holes being pushed through the aligned hand holes to secure the bag in its closed arrangement. The closure panel 12 stiffens the bag. Fig. 1 shows the bag, open at its base, acting as a protective cover for a garment. Instead of the closure panel 12, the bottom closure flap 9 may be secured to the front panel 2 by releasable fasteners. |
