<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy foil for a current collector which can improve its alkali resistance compared with conventional ones and has a sufficient strength. <P>SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy foil for the current collector has a chemical composition of, by the mass percentage, Si: 0.01-0.4%, Fe: 0.01-0.9%, Mg: 0.1-1.5% excluding 1.5%, with the balance being Al and inevitable impurities. The aluminum alloy foil has a thickness of 20 μm or less and a tensile strength of 190 MPa or higher. The chemical composition may include one or more selected from, by the mass percentage, Cu: 0.01-0.30% and Mn: 0.1-0.50% excluding 0.50%.
