<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure diagnosis system capable of diagnosing a failure by a diagnosis device for a node in a sleep state in a selective wake-up mode. <P>SOLUTION: A diagnosis assist ECU determines whether or not a frame received from the diagnosis device is a diagnosis frame (S100). When it is the diagnosis frame (S100: YES), a diagnosis object ECU is searched (S110). Then, a starting ID of the diagnosis object ECU is set up in a wake-up frame (S120) and the wake-up frame is transmitted to a bus communication path (S130). The sleeping ECU receives the wake-up frame by a transceiver and compares the starting ID set up in the wake-up frame with an own starting ID.
