This receiver is provided with: a broadcast content acquisition unit that acquires content from a broadcast signal; a determination unit that determines whether or not a received application is an application for which consulting content is permitted; a recording unit that records to a first recording region applications determined by the determination unit to be those for which consulting content is permitted, and that records to a second recording region applications determined by the determination unit to not be those for which consulting content is permitted; an execution unit that executes an application recorded at the first recording region or the second recording region; and a consultation denying unit that denies the consultation by means of the execution of an application other than the applications recorded at the first recording region of content acquired by the broadcast content acquisition unit.
