According to the present invention, a character input apparatus comprises: a plurality of input buttons for displaying and taking, as an input, an input unit for completing a character or word; a touch screen unit, which includes a function button for performing an additional function for completing the character or word using the input unit, wherein the input buttons and the function button are arranged at the center of the touch screen unit or arranged equidistantly from the center of the touch screen unit; and a control unit, which controls said touch screen unit such that the touch screen unit takes, as an input, said input unit and an additional functional instruction for performing said additional function from a user using said input buttons and said function button through a single touch and drag system, and completes said character or word by means of either a direct method or a combined method using said input unit, and displays the completed character or word on said touch screen unit. |
