The method involves detecting process parameter of a sterilization process (50) based on type of objects e.g. porous to be sterilized, where the process is executed by a sterilizer. Another process parameter of the sterilization process is detected, and a corrected process parameter is calculated from the former and the latter process parameters. The type of the objects is determined based on the corrected process parameter for adapting the sterilization process to the type of the objects, where the process parameters are selected independent of each other. An independent claim is also included for a sterilization device.
