A smoke detector and alarm device including a smoke detecting chamber having an outer portion with apertures formed therein for enabling air and smoke to flow therethrough 5 and having a smoke detector positioned in the chamber, a sound generating device mounted adjacent the smoke detecting chamber and adjacent an opening in a front cover through which sound emanating from the sound generating device passes through, in response to the detection of smoke in the chamber, an electrical circuit connectable to a mains power supply and connected to the smoke detector, a base portion for housing the 10 electrical circuit and smoke detecting chamber and a terminal assembly for connection of mains power cables to the device, whereupon detection of the smoke in the chamber, an electrical signal is sent from the electrical circuit to the sound generating device to emit an audible alarm. 0 -14 17? |
