<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair with a backrest in which a back outer shell is rigidly mounted to a back frame without increasing the size of the back outer shell. <P>SOLUTION: The back outer shell 12 is made of a resin, and has side ribs 23 and inner ribs 24 positioned on the inside of the side ribs. The back rest 5 is disposed so that the back side thereof abuts on the side ribs 23. A wide back supporting portion 11 is raised from the rear end of a back frame 8, and both right and left ends of the back supporting portion 11 are provided with back posts 13. An inner shell 16 has a space enclosed by the side ribs 23 and the inner ribs 24, and is formed with pocket portions 25 into which the upper parts 13a of the back supports 13 are fitted. The pocket portion 25 is provided in a dead space of the back outer shell 12, so that the back outer shell 12 is mounted to the back frame 8 without increasing the size of the outer shell. The back inner shell 16 is non-disengageably held at the back frame 8 by engaging a lower stopper 29 and a corner engaging pawl 32 to the back frame 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
