<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents a nozzle down of a recording head due to attachment of paper powder flown into the image forming apparatus, has no effect on image quality such as ink blurring or strike through, and can suppress troubles of paper such as paper wrinkles or paper tear. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms an image on a printing paper by jetting ink droplets from a recording head, and includes: a paper feeding stand for loading the printing paper; a liquid applying means for applying the liquid on side surfaces of the printing paper loaded on the paper feeding stand; and a liquid applying means moving mechanism capable of changing the distance between the liquid applying means and the side surface of the printing paper loaded on the paper feeding stand. The liquid applying means is a lateral surface liquid applying means for applying the liquid on the lateral surface which is in parallel to a paper feeding direction among the side surfaces of the printing paper loaded on the paper feeding stand and/or a tip end surface liquid applying means for applying the liquid to the tip end surface in the paper feeding direction among the side surfaces of the printing paper loaded on the paper feeding stand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
