<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable each node to communicate using an appropriate route MTU value. <P>SOLUTION: In a network system having a plurality of terminals and a plurality of relay devices communicably connected by links, each relay device stores in a destination cache a minimum MTU value of each link, included in a route from the own relay device to a predetermined terminal, in association with a terminal IP address. If the MTU value of a predetermined link is larger than and including an MTU value stored in the destination cache, the relay device transmits to the predetermined link the combination of the MTU value stored in the destination cache with the IP address, whereas if the MTU value of a predetermined link is smaller than the MTU value stored in the destination cache, the relay device transmits to the predetermined link the combination of the MTU value of the predetermined link with the IP address. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
