摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a user sometimes suffers from a sense of discomfort as knocking occurs a plurality of times in such a case where: if all cylinders are controlled to retard together when knocking occurs, cylinders without the knocking are made to similarly retard in ignition timing, resulting in a drop in efficiency of cylinders with good combustion efficiency; and, on the contrary if the knocking is detected for each cylinder and only the cylinder with the knocking is retarded in ignition timing, the knocking may occur on two or more cylinders depending on load or driving conditions of the engine, and operation since the occurrence of the knocking until retard control is repeated for each cylinder. <P>SOLUTION: A cylinder on which the knocking is detected by a knocking detecting means is assumed to be a first cylinder. An ECU calculates a retard amount of an ignition signal for inhibiting the occurrence of the knocking in the first cylinder for the subsequent combustion. While an internal combustion engine is accelerating, the ignition signal from the ECU for cylinders other than the first cylinder has a retard amount reflected in a range of 30-50% of the retard amount for the first cylinder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
