PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a control speed in recording or reproduction using a holography of an angle multiplex system.

SOLUTION: An optical information reproducing device comprises: an angle control element that controls reference light entering an optical information recording medium in a direction perpendicular to an angle multiplex direction; a photodetector that detects a reproduced image reproduced by the reference light; and a position control circuit that controls the position relationship between the reference light and the optical information recording medium. The optical information recording medium is irradiated with the reference light in a state in which an angle in a direction perpendicular to the angle multiplex direction of the reference light is shifted from a proper angle for reproduction of page data by the angle control element. The photodetector detects the quantity of reproduction light from the optical information recording medium. The existence of a hologram at a position irradiated with the reference light is detected on the basis of the information of the detected quantity of light.
