<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member, in which a fine structure layer comprising a plurality of columnar projections with different heights is formed on a substrate surface, the fine structure layer has a refractive index lower than that of the substrate and thereby, has an antireflection effect, and which can suppress variation in reflectance in a wide wavelength range of light incident to the substrate, although the fine structure layer is a monolayer. <P>SOLUTION: The optical member comprises at least a substrate and a fine structure layer, in which the fine structure layer comprises a plurality of columnar projections with different heights. When the shortest wavelength and the longest wavelength of light incident to the optical member are denoted by λ<SB POS="POST">min</SB>and λ<SB POS="POST">max</SB>, respectively, a height D of the columnar projection in the fine structure layer satisfies an expression (1): λ<SB POS="POST">min</SB>/4≤D≤λ<SB POS="POST">max</SB>/4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
