<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sound localization of an acoustic image at a location off a listener's median plane either to the left or right. <P>SOLUTION: Binauralizing processing units generate a first binaural signal, in which an HRTF on the opposite side of a sound source is superposed on an audio signal, and a second binaural signal, in which an HRTF on the side of the sound source is superposed on the audio signal and then components of the superposed signal are attenuated in a band where a first notch and a second notch of the HRTF on the opposite side of the sound source appear. A crosstalk correction processing unit applies crosstalk correction, which cancels audio transfer characteristics and crosstalk, to the first binaural signal and the second binaural signal.
