<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a control method, and a program which make it possible to perform an image forming operation even during update of a control program. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, an operation unit 401, a main CPU201, and plural sub CPUs. The main CPU201 acquires use sub CPU information corresponding to a function ID, and checks them against the sub CPU state in a sub CPU firmware update state table. The main CPU201 determines whether it is under firmware update regarding the sub CPU corresponding to the print mode of the function ID, and, if it is under firmware update, the main CPU201 invalidates a print mode selection button on a screen of the operation unit 401. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
